About Matt

After gaining an MSc in Sports Biomechanics Matt completed the Premier Training diploma in personal A6C628D6-A6E8-4892-82E9-45A273D6A3C2training and sports massage and qualified as a personal trainer in 2004. He then worked in Canary Wharf Holmes Place for three years and then Virgin Active for four years becoming a Virgin Active Master Trainer. Matt left Virgin Active in 2012 to set up Greenwich Fitness, a personal training studio based in Greenwich, London. The studio offered a range of fitness activities including personal training, small group training, strength and conditioning, sports massage and Pilates. Matt left Greenwich Fitness in July 2019 in order to move back to his home county of Nottinghamshire and set up a new personal training studio based in Farndon. He is qualified to REPS level 3 and became an accredited UK strength and conditioning coach in 2013. He is passionate about the benefits of exercise and healthy eating and takes a great deal of pride in the achievements of his clients.

Matt was a keen triathlete for 15 years competing over sprint, Olympic and 20x30-BUDC0328 webmiddle distance races. He competed at the world age group championships in Vancouver in 2008 and Budapest in 2010. He also qualified for the European championships in Israel and Spain. Swimming was always Matt’s strength, regularly coming out the water in the front group. Cycling and running always needed a lot more training! Since retiring from triathlon Matt has focused on strength training, particularly enjoying the Olympic lifts and Crossfit style training.
